workshop overview

Our workshops range from 1 to 4 days and are aimed at all levels of experience from beginner to expert. Whether you want to become more proficient at using your camera and equipment or are already experienced and simply want to be guided to a series of hand picked locations, the choice is yours.

You will also work on post processing the images in Photoshop using simple workflow to get print ready images. If you don’t have access to a computer then we can help with that.

You will visit amazing locations and we will give you hands on experience capturing striking images of a beautiful and very photogenic part of New Zealand. The emphasis is very much on learning and taking pictures in the field where direct supervision is given by our principal photographer.

Our groups range in size from one to a maximum of four and are small enough to allow each student to focus on their own specific areas of interest. We also run tailored courses on a 1:1 basis at no extra charge.

We travel in a modern large 4 wheel drive vehicle so comfort and safety are paramount and it also means we can easily access some of the more remote locations.

We recognise that people may be travelling light or may not have the right equipment so we do have SLRs and camera equipment available for use if you need it so do please ask. If you don’t have access to a computer to process the images then we can supply that too.

We also appreciate that many people are travelling on holiday with tight schedules so we can be flexible according to your needs. Call and ask.

After spending just a few short hours with Ian I got some great tips on how to use my Canon EOS 600D camera. Ian’s guidance on how to plan a shot with timing and light resulted in the most amazing panoramic shots of Mt Ruapehu and Ngaruruhoe. I’m really looking forward to future workshops
